Inspired by organizations like Brooklyn Supported Agriculture and The Working Theater, Bike Plant offers multiple price points for classes. When choosing a price point we ask that you think about your income (the amount of money you make) and your wealth (what’s available to you in the form of financial resources, land or housing, and income potential), which both factor into how financially secure you are.

Before registering for a class at the shop, please take a moment to consider the following sliding scale options:

Sliding scale class pricing

Under-resourced
Might be right for you if you live paycheck to paycheck, lack a consistent income and have no expendable income, or often stress over affording basics like housing, food, and transportation or paying for debts.
If this price point is out of reach for you and you’d like to attend a class, email us!

Standard
Might be right for you if you have a mostly reliable income, don’t consistently struggle to afford basics like housing and food, and usually have access to transportation and some expendable income.

Well-resourcedCovers one under-resourced student
Might be right for you if you can meet your basic needs like groceries, rent and transportation and have expendable income for things like eating out or buying items like clothes, books, et cetera each month.

ContributorCovers two under-resourced students
Might be right for you if you’re more worried about where you’ll put the next bike than whether or not you’ll be able to buy it, and you want to share the love.
